Multi-Carrier Wireless Access (MCWA) |
|
Solution Overview In certain countries or regions, mobile calling rate within network (in-network) can be significant lower than between network (out-network), some carriers even offer free in-network calls. The WPBX can analyze the outgoing calls and decide to route the calls into the least cost channels, no matter it is GSM or CDMA network. For example, in your region, you have 2 wireless carriers (GSM-A and GSM-B) operate on GSM network, and 1 carriers operate on CDMA network (CDMA-C). Phone number from GSM-A starts with 130-132, phone number from GSM-B starts with 134-139, phone number from CDMA-C starts with 133. We can deploy two SIM cards from GSM-A on Slot #1, two SIM cards from GSM-B on slot #2, four CDMA cards from CDMA-C on slot #3 and slot #4. When a user makes a phone call to 130xxxxxxxxx, the device will route the call automatically to carrier GSM-A. Networking ![]() Case Study There are mutliple wireless carriers in Taiwan (both GSM and CDMA network), calling rate between carriers are more expensive than calling rate within carriers. Callings mobile number through fix-line carrier is more expensive than mobile-to-mobile calls.A global fast food franchisee has about 500 stores in Taiwan. A significant portion of the business are through phone order. Most of the calls are out-going calls and the destination number are mobile numbers. The phones are connected to a company PBX and all calls are routed into a fixed-line carrier. Average phone cost each month per store is about $500. WaveTramp's reseller propose a solution for the food chains: 4 of 6 PSTN lines are directly hooked up with WPBX 4012 FXS port (these ports are assigned to the 4 wireless channels), then we configure the device (using a web interface) to map the 4 wireless channels to the wireless carriers so that all calls to those carriers will be directly routed into the wireless carriers without going through the PSTN line. For landline calls, the device will route them into PSTN network. Both GSM and CDMA cards are applied to the device. The number of wireless channels for each store can be varied depends on the calling volumn and patterns. On average, with the new deployment, the phone bill reduce by up to 40% ($300). The store does not have to buy the device, it share the saving with the WaveTramp's reseller each month. In this case, the reseller work as more a virtual carrier. |
